by Marketing ROC

Franklin, Wis. - The Milwaukee Milkmen are recognizing and celebrating Hispanic and Latino heritage in the city of Milwaukee, the sport of baseball and the Milkmen team itself with “Lecheros de Milwaukee” night(s) at Franklin Field.

The team will have three nights of celebrating Lecheros de Milwaukee on Tuesday, July 19th, Friday, August 5th, and Sunday, August 21st in partnership with the Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation & Mexican FiestaHeavyHitters Athletic FacilityLucky7Promotions and other Latino organizations.

“We are very excited to be partnering with Lecheros de Milwaukee to bring awareness to the culture,” said Mexican Fiesta Executive Director Teresa Mercado. “This is a great way to get our message of ‘serving the community’ out to a new audience in a fun and entertaining way. It’s also an opportunity to come together to learn about and embrace Latin heritage. We’re looking forward to it!”

The players and coaches will wear special uniforms including a new specially designed jersey, hat and logo for the on field in celebration with the logo being inspired from the familial traditions of Día de los Muertos and the teams commitment to encourage family time.

“I’m very happy that our organization is celebrating Latin heritage,” said Pitching Coach from the Venezuela Jose Rodriguez. “We have some fans on regular games that will talk and cheer for us in Spanish from the stands but to have a stadium filled with a Latino audience, I’m certainly looking forward to that.”

The game will feature a Mexican arts & crafts display courtesy of Mexican Fiesta, a DJ set from Luck7Promotions DJ Breezy & DJ Don pregame, flags displaying the home countries of Milkmen players, food trucks and more.

“We are really pleased to be apart of bringing the Latino community together on these Lecheros games,” said Heavy Hitters President of Baseball Operations Marcos Ramos-Garcia. “Being the only LATINO owned BASEBALL facility in the area, we stress being involved in the community and this partnership made sense. More importantly we are looking forward to addressing the needs of our Latin community.”

We are proud to adopt the "Lecheros" name and logo beginning in 2022 for select games, welcoming all members of the Latino and Hispanic communities.

In 2023, we will begin our participation in Copa de la Diversión, MiLB's season-long series designed to embrace the culture and values that resonate most with participating teams' local U.S. Hispanic/Latino communities.

“It means a great deal to us, I know there's a lot of Latin culture in Milwaukee and we have it in our ballclub,” said Manager Anthony Barone. “The Latin heritage in baseball is so dynamic so it's exciting for our guys to wear those uniforms and represent. We're really looking forward to it.”

Tickets are available at MilwaukeeMilkmen.com or at the Franklin Field Box Office before the game.
