MILKMEN GET BIT BY DOCKHOUNDS LATE IN OPENING SERIES FINALE.

FRANKLIN, WI - The Milwaukee Milkmen fell to the Lake Country Dockhounds Sunday afternoon at Franklin Field.

The Dockhounds opened up the game with a 3-run home run in the first inning and the Milkmen responded in the bottom of the second with back to back home runs of their own from Aaron Hill and Mason Davis.

Milwaukee then took the lead after a sacrifice fly-out from Bryan Torres that drove in Christ Conley, and a single from Correlle Prime that drove in Magglio Ordonez Jr.

Both teams traded runs in the 7th inning to keep the Milkmen up one 5-4. Until A.J. Schugel gave up 2 runs in the 9th and put the Dockhounds up 5-6. 

Milwaukee was unable to score a run in the bottom of the 9th and the Dockhounds took the game for their first win in team history.

Final Score: Milwaukee Milkmen 5, Lake Country DockHounds 6.


The Milkmen still won the opening series two games to one, and manager Anthony Barone is happy with how the team has fought in its first series.

“It’s been a little bit of everybody so far,”  said Barone. “I like the fight that we have shown so far in each of the three games because we have had a deficit in all three games so for us to win two out of three shows our guys played really hard this weekend.”

Chad Sedio, who had the solo home run in the bottom of the 7th to put the Milkmen back up remains positive and is ready for the next series.

“We’re not gonna win every game,” added Sedio. “We won the series and we’re happy about that, so we're just going to keep building on that.”

Up next, the Milkmen have another three game home series against the Cleburne Railroaders. The first game is tomorrow at 6:35 p.m. at Franklin Field.
