MILKMEN OFF TO HOT START SWEEPING RAILCATS; DOCKHOUNDS UP NEXT STARTING TUESDAY MORNING.

The Milwaukee Milkmen of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball, opened the 2025 season with a bang; sweeping division rivals, the Gary SouthShore Railcats, right out of Franklin Field.


“It was good to see three really highly contested ball games and everyone stepping up and digging in,” said Milwaukee Milkmen Manager Anthony Barone. “When you’re playing close games early on, that just helps you later on in the season.”

“We have a term; ‘everyone eats’,” explained Barone. “I don’t think we have to count on one person to step in and get the job done; we hope it’s somebody different every day that helps us get a win. Our pitching was outstanding this weekend with our three starters Frankie Bartow, Matt Givin and Jorhdonhy Mesquita; on the 

offensive side Delvin Perez had a really good weekend along with Willie Escala. Like I said, we hope it’s always someone different stepping up every game.”


The Milkmen enjoy a day off Monday and get ready for a three-game series against another division rival, the Lake Country Dockhounds who are coming off a successful weekend in Chicago taking two out of three.


“It’s going to be a really good series,” added Barone. “Lake Country has got a really good roster and some carry over from their playoff team last year. Our guys understand that every divisional game is important and it’s going to be a battle. We’re looking forward to it.”
